2009 Nitro
:

Over, around and through.

So you want to go places? Nitro gives you a choice of a standard two-wheel drive or an available shift-on-the fly, part-time four-wheel-drive system. And in extreme steering maneuvers, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP)[1] helps you maintain control. ESP[1] senses when a vehicle is starting to spin or plow, and works with traction control and the available Antilock Brake System (ABS) to help correct the Nitro's course.

Also contributing to Nitro's smooth ride and serious traction:

  • Short and Long Arm (SLA) independent front suspension provides rock-steady ride, handling and steering control.
  • Solid-axle five-link rear suspension offers improved stability, especially when fully loaded or towing a trailer.
  • Nitro R/T features a unique performance-tuned suspension for even more grip.

  • Antilock Brake System (ABS)

See it in action. Nitro's four-wheel-disc Antilock Brake System (ABS) with brake assist helps prevent wheel lockup for shorter stopping distances and improved control under extreme braking or slippery conditions. Tough and rugged calipers clamp down on big-time discs made from high-carbon damped iron for quiet, fade-free stopping power.
