In extreme steering maneuvers, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP)[1] helps you maintain vehicle control and avoid potential accidents. ESP[1] senses when a vehicle is starting to spin or plow, and works with traction control and the available Antilock Brake System (ABS) to help correct Nitro's course.
The four-wheel-disc ABS system with brake assist helps prevent wheel lockup under extreme braking or slippery conditions, resulting in shorter stopping distances and improved control. Tough and rugged calipers clamp down on big-time discs made from high-carbon damped iron for quiet, fade-free stopping power.

- ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System

Nitro's available ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System[2] uses sound waves to detect nearby obstacles in and near the rear path of the vehicle to help you maneuver in tight spaces at parking speeds. Audio-visual indicators in the overhead display in the rear of the vehicle alert you to the proximity of most larger, stationary objects that might be outside your line of sight.
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Properly inflated tires benefit Nitro's performance, safety and the overall life of the tires. If improper pressure is detected in any wheel, a warning lamp will alert you from the instrument panel. On vehicles equipped with the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC), individual tire pressures will display digitally.
